Join the Friends of Bellingrath

Walter Bellingrath created the Bellingrath-Morse Foundation to manage Bellingrath Gardens and Home as a fitting and permanent memorial to his wife, Bessie. Although Bellingrath Gardens and Home receives income from the Bellingrath-Morse Foundation, two-thirds of our current operations are financed by admissions, Gift Shop and Café sales, memberships, and contributions.

Please join the Friends of Bellingrath and help perpetuate the dream and legacy of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath – Bellingrath Gardens and Home, one of Alabama’s oldest and most famous cultural institutions. One hundred percent of your membership investment enables us to continue to restore and improve the historic Home and Gardens and to create interesting interpretive programs.

Our members are our foundation! As a not-for-profit organization, Bellingrath Gardens and Home relies on the financial support of our members to fulfill our mission to develop and use the Gardens to provide educational, entertainment, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. As a member, you are vital to the health and stability of the Gardens and Home, particularly when you attend our classes, social events, and other activities, and invite your friends to enjoy the beauty of “the Charm Spot of the Deep South.”

Membership Levels and Benefits


Your Friends of Bellingrath membership entitles you to free admission to the Gardens year-round (except during special events). Members receive special mailings and e-newsletters to keep you up-to-date on everything that is growing and happening throughout the year. A basic Family Membership includes two adults and children under age 18, living in the household. Patron and Belle Camp members also receive unlimited admissions to the Bellingrath Home for one year and invitations to special events.

  • Winter Programs in January and February
  • Summer Programs in June and July (Includes NatureNauts Exploration Day)
  • After-Hours Garden Strolls in the Spring and Summer
  • Fall Outdoor Cascading Chrysanthemums Display in November

  • Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee (Formerly Boo!)
  • Magic Christmas in Lights

  *Member received discounted admission to Magic Christmas in Lights after 12pm.
