Walter Bellingrath created the Bellingrath-Morse Foundation to manage Bellingrath Gardens and Home as a fitting and permanent memorial to his wife, Bessie. Although Bellingrath Gardens and Home receives income from the Bellingrath-Morse Foundation, two-thirds of our current operations are financed by admissions, gift shop and restaurant sales, memberships, and contributions.
Please join the Friends of Bellingrath and help perpetuate the dream and legacy of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath – Bellingrath Gardens and Home, one of Alabama’s oldest and most famous cultural institutions. One hundred percent of your membership investment enables us to continue to restore and improve the historic Home and Gardens and to create interesting interpretive programs.
Our members are our foundation! As a not-for-profit organization, Bellingrath Gardens and Home relies on the financial support of our members to fulfill our mission to develop and use the Gardens to provide educational, entertainment, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. As a member, you are vital to the health and stability of the Gardens and Home, particularly when you attend our classes, social events, and other activities, and invite your friends to enjoy the beauty of “the Charm Spot of the Deep South.”
Your Membership
- Helps the Garden offer low-cost and free educational programs
- Provides funding for improvements to the Garden and plant displays
- Allows for restoration and conservation work
- Ensures that Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a festive, community-gathering place
- Entitles you to enjoy free admission to the Gardens from January to mid-November, to save on admission to our special events, and to enjoy discounts in our beautiful Gift Shop.
Membership Levels and Benefits
Your Friends of Bellingrath membership entitles you to unlimited admissions to the Gardens from January to the day before Thanksgiving (except during special events). Members receive special mailings and monthly e-newsletters to keep you up-to-date on everything that is growing and happening throughout the year. A basic Family Membership includes two adults and up to three children under age 18. A Family Plus Membership includes two adults and four or more children under the age of 18. Patron and Belle Camp members also receive unlimited admissions to the Bellingrath Home for one year and invitations to special events.

- After-Hours Garden Strolls in the Spring and Summer
- Fall Outdoor Cascading Chrysanthemums Display in November

*Member received discounted admission to Magic Christmas in Lights after 12pm.
