Thursday, May 13: Go Public Gardens Night Stroll, 5 to 7 p.m.

Bellingrath Gardens and Home will host the Go Public Gardens Night Stroll with extended hours on Thursday, May 13. This event is part of Go Public Gardens Days, an initiative presented by the American Public Gardens Association to promote the importance of public gardens.

Go Public Gardens Days is celebrated during the week of May 7-16. During this time, the public is encouraged to visit, value, and volunteer at public gardens in their area and when they travel.

During Bellingrath’s Go Public Gardens Night Stroll, guests are encouraged to come and enjoy the Gardens after hours. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Barbara Smith,  Display Horticulture Designer and Plant Recorder, will offer container gardening demonstrations on Live Oak Plaza at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

As part of Go Public Gardens Days, downtown Mobile will be lit with green lights on May 7 at the RSA Tower and at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel.

Admission to the Go Public Gardens Night Stroll is free to Members of the Friends of Bellingrath. For non-members, admission is the same as regular Gardens admission: $14 for adults and $8 for ages 5-12. There is no admission fee for ages 4 and younger.
