In June of 1934 Walter and Bessie Bellingrath embarked on a vacation of a lifetime. Their driver was nephew Ernest Edgar, Jr. whose wife Amelia kept a diary of the trip. Their car was a new twelve cylinder Cadillac offering 9 miles to a gallon in an era of few gasoline stations. The trip lasted well into September and covered many familiar and now unfamiliar spots across the United States, Canada and Alaska. Not only will we explore some of those stops but we will hear fun stories that Amelia did not put in her diary.
