Summer STEM Camps

Monday through Friday from June 19 to July 21

Dive into the wonders of the natural world this summer at Bellingrath Gardens and Home STEM Summer Camps! Campers spend the day outdoors in the gardens: hiking, learning about science and the environment, creating art and learning about the world around them.

Camps are designed for students entering Kindergarten through grade 6 in fall 2023. All camps are held Monday-Friday from 9am – 3pm.

Member: $125

Non-Member: $150

Each week you will:

· Investigate different growing methods such as planting seeds and propagating plants while learning more about the environment.

· Gain an understanding of the role of pollinators, insects and other bugs in the garden through STEM based activities.

· Learn more about outdoor spaces including gardens and waterways and how to protect them while developing confidence in their ability to positively impact the world.

· Learn more about healthy eating practices and how food is grown and brought to their plate.

Weekly Sessions

June 19 – 23 Backyard Gardener

Learn how to become a backyard gardener! Campers will investigate different growing methods, learn about propagating plants, design their own backyard garden and learn tips from the experts. Create nature inspired crafts to bring home to your own backyard spaces.

June 26 – 29 Backyard Detective

Pull out your magnifying glasses, grab your binoculars and solve mysteries of nature. We will follow the clues to find out who is digging up the vegetables, what is creating holes in our trees, what are those birds in the sky? The natural world is filled with mysteries to solve. Campers will discover the answers to how nature works through STEM activities including experiments, exploration, and self-discovery throughout the Garden.

July 10 –14 Heroes of the Garden

There’s a battle every day between bugs and plants. Campers will learn who the heroes of the garden are through hands-on exploration and discovery. Discover the amazing world of bugs through STEM-based activities and gain a deeper understanding of the role of insects in our environment.

July 17 – July 21 Outdoor Observer

Immerse yourself in nature at the Gardens and explore our connections to local habitats and global ecosystems by learning about our habitats in the gardens. Campers will do and hands on activities and art projects.
