Coronavirus Safety Plan

Our precautions

The staff at Bellingrath Gardens and Home continues to monitor recommendations from the CDC and our local and state health departments, and we are following all guidelines to help prevent the spread of the virus. The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority.

Our precautions include:

Sanitizing: We are maintaining a thorough cleaning cycle.

Training: Our staff members have been updated on the nature and symptoms of Covid-19 and the best practices to avoid becoming infected or spreading the disease. Best practices include following respiratory etiquette, proper hand hygiene, and staying home when sick.

Cleanliness: Hand sanitizer stations have been set up in all buildings. As always, we provide plenty of opportunities for employees and guests to wash and sanitize their hands in the restrooms, which are located in the Entrance Building, the Gift Shop and the Boehm Gallery. In addition, credit card transactions are encouraged when possible.

Protective shields: Plastic shields have been mounted in the Admissions Building, the Gift Shop and the Magnolia Café to provide a barrier against germs. The Alabama Governor’s recommendations no longer include a mask mandate, but individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or other facial covering when in public or in close contact with other people. Masks are available for purchase.
