The 21st annual Goodwill Easter Seals’ Christmas on the Coast Ornament for the City of Mobile features the Bellingrath Home, which will mark its 80th anniversary in the summer of 2016.

The limited edition ornaments, designed by artist artist “B” Sumrall, are available in the Bellingrath Gift Shop for $15. They are popular collectors’ items each year.

Proceeds from their sale benefit Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast, which uses the funds to provide services to individuals with disabilities and others in need. The nonprofit agency’s programs include early care and education for children of all abilities, family support and respite, adult education and GED services, job search assistance for individuals with disabilities and free income tax preparation services for low-income households.

Walter and Bessie Bellingrath hired famed architect George B. Rogers to design their estate home on the Fowl River in 1935. The official groundbreaking was held in June 1935, and the Home was completed in 1936.
